See a bit of our daily life
|
About UsWe are four generations working together. Our traditional lifestyle includes farming, raising animals and, most of all, weaving. We gather the wool and clean it in a nearby stream using native plants as detergent. We card the wool by hand and spin it into yarn. Then we use natural dyes to give it both brilliant and subtle colors. The backstrap looms in our rustic workshop take much time and patience. But we have the satisfaction of producing very high quality weavings we can be proud of.
We enjoy meeting visitors from around the world and sharing our hospitality with them. |
Where we live
|
Our village, Agato, is just a ten minute bus or taxi ride from Otavalo, Ecuador. But it seems very rural, being surrounded by fields and pastures. Our workshop, called Tahuantinsuyo, is attached to our home. We live just a short walk from the town plaza. You are welcome to visit our home and workshop. Find us on the Map.
